need HELP URGENTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i need some help please, i was trying to download something from torrentz.com
and when it asked me what to open it with i choose windows media player, now
media player is the the default for my computer. whenever i try to open
anything media trys to open it even msn messenger!!! i need some help please.
i notice on the desktop, that the shortcuts, the icon changed as well. to a
film and music note, and when i look at the propertie it says that the target
type is windows media player.
please help me. windows media player is tryung to open everything i try to
open on my laptop, even the start up programmes. im using a 32bit laptop.

What was the file extension of the file that you right clicked on an
used "Open With"

You can fix this by clicking on the file extension fix in the box a
this site. It will give a file to download to fix the association fo
the file extension that you clicked on by restoring it back to th
default associations. It sounds like it it the "lnk" file extension o
"exe" extension. It will not hurt anything to try both of them

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU DOWNLOADED AN .EXE FILE AND ASSOCIATED THE .EXE WITH
MEDIA PLAYER, DELETE THE ASSOCIATION

I'm guessing somebody was on mommy's or daddy's laptop and broke it.
