Need Help with Vista Sidebar

I would like to change the background color on the Windows Vista
Sidebar....or...at least make it transparent. Is there a way to do either?

As far as I know, it's automatically transparent so long as you have 'Aero'
enabled.

Right-click desktop > Personalize > Themes ... & select the 'Windows Vista'
theme.

Also

Right-click desktop > Personalize > Window Color and appearance
eg the 'enable transparency option'
