i need Hotfix file KB932471

Windows XP update refuses to install Hotfix 932471 and according to this
: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932471 I need to get it from
Microsoft, but they want to charge for tech help. This is their problem
not mine so is there a way to get this file?

If you've not downloaded 932471, how do you know it won't install? (I'd
doubt it's offered via Windows Update.)

Is MS .NET Framework 3.0 (not 3.5, not 3.0 SP1) installed? Is the machine
fully patched at Windows Update?

You have to call using the contact number provided, in the lnk, & state you
require hotfix*** as alluded to in kb article***
IF MS tech decides that is what is required there is no fee.

Thank you I will do that. As far as the question how do I know I need
it! Windows update says so and it fails to install. I had to do manual
updates by going to each file one at a time, do to a bug in update
system. Now i have it all patched.

Windows Update or Automatic Updates offered you 923471 or another .NET
Framework 3.x update?

Yes they do, but the problem is that many people have problems loading
this hotfix. I have it working now and have one more problem to solve.

Ehm, KB923471 isn't offered via Windows/Microsoft but .NET Framework
3.0 as an *optional* update. Anyhow, in case you have trouble with
..NET Framework 3.0, how about applying .NET Framework 3.0 SP1 which
isn't offered via WU/MU yet?
