This may not be correct newsgroup but couldn't find one that exactly fit. I
am running Vista with SP-2. I am using mobile broadband here at the house
and need recommendations on a accurate bandwith monitor to insure I do not go
over the limit. Any recommendations. Thanks in advance.

If you don't get any answers here (and I'm sorry but I don't know one for
you), you might try posting in one of the forums at www.dslreports.com.
Belying their name, they cover far more Internet-related stuff than just
DSL.

I've been using BitMeter from
http://codebox.no-ip.net/controller?page=bitmeter2.

The download button is on the right side of the page. You can even set
alarms as to when you are approaching your limit.

By "accurate bandwith monitor", are you talking about monitoring bits/bytes
per second, or total transmitted bytes or received bytes within a billing
period? My cable internet access automatically throttles the bandwidth
(bits/bytes per second), based on the service plan, but has a very poor
method for my finding out the current total bytes received and transmitted
within the billing period. Currently only the cheapest ($20 per month) plan
has a limit on total bytes transmitted and received. You might want to talk
to your mobile broadband provider to get more details of what your
responsibilities are for staying within your service plan's limits.

Hopefully someone else will post a method for measuring and reporting the
info you need.
