I tried to install a driver for my zboard Merc gaming keyboard and got the
following two messages.
message: the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer
because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may
update a differnt version of the program. Verify that the program to be
upgraded exists on your computer and you have the correct update patch.
message: 1259: Error insalling Microsoft(R) .NET Framwork.

I emailed zboard customer support and was told the following answer.
Answer: completely unistall the .NET Framework Version 2.0 (Control
Panes->Add or Remove Program) Please note: If .NET v3.0 exists on your
system, delete .NET v3.0 before deleting .NET v2.0. (as v 2.0 uninstall fails
w/o uninstalling v3.0 first).
Reinstall the . Net Framework Version 2.0 according to you operating system:
Microsoft . NET Framework 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86):
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x64):
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...AdditionalInfo

I have three questions.
1) How do I uninstall the .NET framework v 2.0? Because I do not see it in my
ADD Remove Programs.
2) How do I know which redistributable Package I need?
3) If I happen to have .NET Framework v 3.0 do I reinstall that also?

Windows Vista already has .NET Framework, all versions, pre-installed. The
versions can't be uninstalled. Don't delete files under C:\Windows\.

Did you download the Vista compatible driver from Zboard?

http://www.ideazon.com/us/downloads/drivers.asp

Zboard customer support should have given you info relevant to Vista, rather
than info seemingly geared to XP.

Actually, Vista comes with .Net Framework 2.0 and 3.0.

If needed, you can install 1.1 on Vista.
