need to uninstall wmp

ok i play call of duty2 but since installing vista i have been unable to play
the game.

firstly when i goto play single player the loading screen freezes
secondly on multiplayer i get kicked for unknown api or bad/program/drivers.

This has been whittled down to a problem with wmp 11 so i need to unistall it.

anyone know how i do that?

Have you downloaded all the patches/upgrades for the game? Also, have you
tried running the game in xp compatibility mode?

yeah i am running latest version, latest punkbuster update and tried running
it in xp mode but still the same.

How did you come to the conclusion the WMP11 is causing the problem? Have
you tried reinstalling call of duty after backing up your save games?

Because WMP11 is built into vista it looks like you might have to try
downloading WMP11 from microsoft and running the installation to
reinstall/repair the player.

well there are several people that have had this exact problem that i have
found on several forums and after getting rid of wmp 11 they dont have the
problem. so i assume it wmp related
