Nero 7 BackItUp or Windows Vista Backup?

It came with my brand new CD/DVD-RW drive. Which do you prefer and why: Nero
7 BackItUp or Windows Vista Backup? I only want to use one of them.

A cursory reading of blurbs seems to indicate that Nero is the better
choice... Is it? Or is something else entirely quite better?

Depends which version of Vista you have. Vista Home Edition and lower only
have a crippled version of Windows Backup. It basically can only back up
your non-encrypted user files from non-FAT partitions, incrementally, on a
schedule. If you need more variability than that the Nero 7 is likely a
better choice provided it is compatible with Vista. I haven't used it but I
have the Nero 9 version of BackItUp and it has a far larger choice of backup
options than Vista HE.

I have Vista Home, which does seem crippled. I will try Nero. Thanks for
your help; I appreciate it.
