NET 3.0 won't install

I keep getting failed to install 0x80070643 error trying to install .NET 3.0
from Windows Updates. I also get same on another computer of mine.

Does anyone know why this is and how to get it to install ?

It is already installed. You have to turn on features

On the off chance it still isn't resolved after trying MVP TaurArian's advice
I have read where one person solved this by following the registry
verification steps in kb 910341 here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/910341

It worked despite the fact that, like you, they were receiving an error code
different from the ones listed in article.
