.NET Framework 1.1.4322

Trying to install a prog produces an error saying I need .NET Framework
1.1.4322
When I go to try and install .NET Framework it tell me I have the wrong OS

Help please?

What is the program you are trying to install. I don't think it was
designed for Vista or possibly even XP becuase XP ships with .net 2.0
and Vista ships with .net 3.0. The program should still work though,
becuase of backwards compatibility, but it might be a little too old.
More info on the program would be helpful.

It is a program for my Pocket PC - Smart Mahjong - the installer needs .NET
Framework 1.1.4322 on my PC in order to install it.

XP didn't ship with any Framework. 1.1 was a download as was 2.0. Vista
ships with 1.1 and likely 2.0 (haven't tried a 2.0 program).

XP shipped with Net 1.0 . And upgrading was optional updates

No, it didn't.

The first OS to actually ship with .NET was
Windows Server 2003, .NET 1.1.

The OS XP Pro Service Pack 1 shipped Net 1.1

Port Admiral Haynes: Look at the product website and see if they have
any updates for installing on Windows Vista. If not, you might not be
able to use it with the new OS.

I'm sorry. You are wrong. WinFX had its name changed to .NET 3.0 and
ships with Vista. Microsoft has an IDE for each version of the
framework (VS2003 = 1.0, VS2005 = 2.0, Orcas = 3.0).
