Net Framework 1.1 Update Failed Triple.

Hello, I have a E Machines T1115 with 384 Megs of RAM, 1.0 Celeron, and 20
GB
and 30 GB HDDs. I was trying to get the update for the NET Framework cause
Windows Update wanted me to get it, but it keeps on failing to install. How
do I
work my way around this, or should I just don't worry about it and get a new
computer and get all the updates possible. I don't know what Net
Framework 1.1
is and what does it do. I don't think its a neccessary update for me. All
I have now
is net framework 2.0 for just my paint program I got off the net. Also what
is causing this failure? Hardware or Operating System woes.
