I am trying to install NET Framework 2.0 onto a notebook runing XP Home SP2 /
SP3, with NET Framework 1.1 installed. The install fails with the message:

"Error 25015.Failed to install assembly
'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Sys tem.EnterpriseServices.dll'
because of system error: The volume does not contain a recognized file system.
Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that
the volume is not corrupted."

which I can't find referenced anywhere. I've tried cleanup tools, deleting,
renaming and moving windows\assembly, and amendng ACLs, all to no avail. Can
anyone offer advice?
