,NET Framework 3.0 Install Failure

My earlier Post was wrong, The problem with IE7 was the new root certificate
update, it knocks the internet out and the PC cannot access my broadband
connection. BUT, I cannot Install .NET Framework 3.0 because every time I try
it says installation unsuccessful. How do I fix this so I can take .NET 3.0
AND, why does the root certificate update cause my internet to go out? I had
to do a system restore to get my internet service back functioning.

I am having the same problem with Framework 3.0. What OS are you running?
XPMCE here. Installed fine on my XP Home PCs, but not this one.

I found a fix from another post, Go to website:

Download tool and run it, in little menu select .net framework 2.0 only, RUN
..NET Tool, do restart , go back to Win Update and do custom search, select
install for .Net frameworks 2.0 and 3.0 , install and do a restart, go back
to Win Update do custon search, see secrurity updates for .Net framework
2.0(do these two updates one at a time, do restart, go back to WIN UPDATE and
take all other security updates that are there. That should clear up the .Net
Framework 3.0 update problem.
