.NET Framework 3.0 Installation

Have tried 3 times to install this update. Receive error "Installation
Failure," and error code "0x13EC"

Tried turning off Norton, but still won't install.

Any suggestions? Have never had a problem before installing an update. Can't
imagine there is any connection, but just installed Office 2007 today.

I have the same problem. Anyone have a way around this? Tom do you have
windows workflow foundation installed?

I'm not familiar with "workflow foundation," so I suspect I don't have it
installed.

I downloaded the 3.0 redistributable form
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

When I tried to install it I was prompted With much more informative messages.

Many thanks for the link. You're right, when I tried to install the
redistributable form, it told me I still had beta versions on my PC (not sure
where they came from). After downloading and running the uninstall utility
they directed me to, the second attempt of installing the redistributable
form went fine.

Thanks guys! I just ran into this problem with .NET 3.0 on Windows Update
site; I didn't realize I still had WinFX 3 beta software installed.......lol
must have been something I installed during the Vista Beta program.........
Anyhow the redistributable worked after I uninstalled the beta program.

Cheers Timmay. I too had the beta version without knowing it. As soon as
it had removed "Indigo" all was well.

I am having trouble downloading .NET 3.0 SP1 on a machine with XP Home. In
the add/remove programs I only have .NET 3.0 installed - none of the other
items mentioned in the Uninstall tool page such as "Indigo Beta 1", WinFX
Runtime Components Beta 1 etc. I ran the uninstall tool and I do have the
Beta version of .NET 3.0. If I remove it then install the 3.0
Redistributable package will I then be able to download .NET 3.0 SP1? Any
help from anyone would be most appreciated.
