.net framework 3.5 causes "the windows host processrundll32 has stopped working"

Under vista ultimate, after installing .net framework 3.5 and restarting, I get the "windows host process rundll32 has stopped working" message. Any ideas? Thank you

Updated version of VS 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5 setup log collection tool
