NET Framework install Error Code: 0x643

NET Framework 2.0:x86 is an update for W2KP I downloaded from Windows Update,
but the installation keeps failing: Can anyone here help me figure out why?
I'm a wanna-be geek whose at about an accomplished beginner's level.
