Has anyone else had this annoying problem? I have d/loaded the update, and
after clicking "install" the installer goes thru the normal procedure, and at
the end says that the installation has failed with an error code 0x643! Since
then the little yellow icon appears in the SysTray all the time, and I would
like to know if there's a way of deleting the d/loaded file so I can get it
again, in case it was corrupted during the d/l...every time I try to
re-install it I get the same <Failed> message.

It's easy enough to search and discover this out on your own.
Google.
Google Groups.

http://groups.google.com/

Specifically:
http://groups.google.com/groups?as_q...=2007&safe=off

Like everybody here and I mean everybody searches for the answer. Shenan also did and posted this link.

Why leave it to someone else when you can also do the same. Some issues require help but this one requires only a search by the person.

Let your fingers do the walking.

I never said you did not *need* this avenue.
I simply gave you the tools to better UTILIZE this avenue in the future.

After all - these newsgroups are archived (for the most part) indefinitely.
This is why I suggested Google/Google groups. I even posted a link that
takes you to a search (Google Groups) that clearly displays the threads that
deal with the same issue as the OP (original Poster) asked about - and many
of those threads have the suggestions in them that have helped MANY people
like you and Iceman.

If you did not come here to learn, why did you come here and ask questions?
*grin*
