The best way to deal with these updates is to go direct
to the KB and download the distribution copy of the
update. I was having problems getting the KB979909
update to install, so I downloaded the distribution copy
and it installed with no problem. It turned out it was the
..Net Framework 2.0 part of the file that was giving the
problem.

.......and still they come...........;-)

I was having issues installing both KB982526 and KB982670. I manually
downloaded them and tried to install them. Got an error from the installer
that the updates were not applicable to my machine. Both updates indicate
they are for Itanium based systems in their notes. My system is definitely
not an Itanium system.

To avoid confusion, please begin a new thread about your specific problem
and computer. State your IE version and full Windows version (e.g., WinXP
SP3; WinXP 64-bit SP2; Vista SP1; Vista 64-bit SP2; Win7; Win7 64-bit) in
your first post. Thank you.
