.net Framework version 1.1

ive tried installing this update on 3 different os's 2 xp mce and one 2000
pro..

the first xp mce is setup as a normal pc, the other two os's are running in
virtualbox under ubuntu.

Everytime i try this update (as of last night -- worked before) it tells me
that the update failed and that "there is something preventing your computer
from installing updates" and to "please review your settings and try again"

anyone have any ideas?

NB: Write down what .NET Framework versions are already installed before you
go uninstalling/removing any of them!
