'.net framework version 1.1' suceeded but still comes up on next update

I'm getting recurring Windows update messages to install and update
".net framework version 1.1". The download works fine, the install
works fine and I get the 'succeeded' message but the next time I do an
update it's telling me I need to update it again. I know I can just
ignore it as the Windows "Add/Remove" Dialog says it is present but
it's annoying to get this message all the same.

Also check the following:
Locate the C:\Windows\System32\Catroot2 folder and make sure that the folder and
contents are not set to ready only.
Make sure "Cryptographic Services" service is running and the Startup type is
Automatic.
If it isn't, right-click the service and select Properties and set to Automatic. If
the service is not shown as "Started", you can start it by clicking the Start button.
