.NET INSTALL INTERNAL ERROR

Hi,

I got the notice from windows update to install the .NET Framework 1.1
Service Pak 1. I tried, but it hung for hours. So, I searched the web, and
downloaded the service pak file to install it from my hard drive. It still
hung forever.

I then tried to uninstall .NET Framework 1.1 from Add/Remove Programs. Got a
message, "Internal Error 2711.S867460" as well as "Fatal Error During
Installation." I tried downloading the dotnetfx.exe file to reinstall .NET,
and got the same error.

HELP!!
