. NET update error

I am running .NET framework 1.1 on my XP prof machine.

I tried to install the newest update for .NET framework, but it failed.
Install history lists error code E0434F4D

Could you reply back with the error from the log? Here's how:
On Windows XP:

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. type: %WINDIR%\WindowsUpdate.log
4. Click OK

On Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003:
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. type: "%WINDIR%\Windows Update.log"
4. Click OK
5. Next, when the log has opened, scroll all the way to the bottom.
6. Ensure this is the case by clicking anywhere inside the log and typing
the <CTRL> and <End> keys.
7. Scroll back up to the minute that you ran the test.
8. Click and drag from that minute to the end of the log, so that the entire
ending of the log is selected.
9. Copy the selected text
10. Reply to this newsgroup, and paste that text in this newsgroup.

I had thet same problem, I'ved added the logfile below.

I can't install the .net 1.1 update. I have XP Home with SP2. All other
updates installed fine. I have tried the
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;836937 answer but I
could not rename the edb file or the catroot2 folder because XP told me
someone or some program is using them. Perhaps someone could tell me to get
the file or folder to be released. All programs were closed.

Before this post I started my last try to update .net at 5:27 am. I am
reporting the windowsupdate.log from that time so maybe this text can help.
