In the mistaken attempt to fix 0x643 errors I deleted net framework versions
including reference in registry. Now I can't install net framework 1.0 to
start the ball rolling again. Update still trys to install patches for 1.1
etc and ver 2.0 and 3.0
any clue here besides an upgrade to Vista?

Install .NET Framework 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0.
No need to install .NET Framework 1.0.

I found I had two different versions of mscoree.dll. After fixing that I now
get:
Error 1935 An error occurred during the installation of assembly Micsrosoft
Vsa version7.0.5000.0 public token "b03f5f7f11d50a3a" culture=neutral file
version 7.10.3052.4 refer to support hr result 0x8002802f

What is all this? reference to something in registry?
