Hi,

I have a cable internetconnection and want to install addional the Netgear
wireless/router.

The installation was succesfull but when trying to acces the internet via
the Netgear router i have to introduce the username, password & domainname?

I do not know if that is related to Netgear router or the cableprovider
(what is the domainname?)

Regards
Huib

You must look for this kind of information at your ISP's and modem
manufacturer's support pages. Netgear wireless routers can be accessed by
typing www.routerlogin.net in the URL field, their support page is
http://kbserver.netgear.com/main.asp.

The items you mention are related to the cable provider. The router has to
know the details of your internet connection so that it can communicate with
the servers. The domain name will be specific to your cable service
provider. Either look it up on their website or phone them if you're not
sure but it is frequently that part of your email address after the '@'
symbol.

Since you have cable, most likely you don't have to log in with a
UID/Password to access the internet. Your Netgear router should have an
option to automatically detect what type of connect you have, and will set
itself up accordingly. Check your documentation which is probably on the
Resource CD that came with the router. Also, this just occured to me; when
you attempt to access the internet, does a log in window pop up? If so, then
that is to log into your router so that it can configure itself (or you
configure). Again, check the documentation to find the default
username/password combination to enter.
