Netscape 9 and Vista

I am running Netscape 9 RC1 as my browser on Vista Business 64 bit. Some
sites don't load properly - Amazon MP3 and osviews to name two. The pictures
and some of the buttons just don't appear. They work fine with IE.

Anyone else having this problem with Netscape 9? Oddly, it doesn't do the
same thing on my work computer running XP Home. Is there something I can
tweak in Vista to make it run better?

Have you installed the RTM which was released yesterday?

Does Netscape 9 still have that IE compatibility mode. I only know that this
release is like a reskinning of the Mozilla FireFox browser.

I am downloading the newer version as I write this and will give it a shot.
You are correct - Netscape 9 is a re-branded Firefox. As far as I know, the
ability to use the IE rendering engine died with Netscape 8. Netscape 8 was
a horrible product; Netscape 9 is completely different.

Hmmm. Same issues, unfortunately, with the final release. Oh well. I will
still use it. I don't care for IE.

Just out of sheer curiosity, have you tried using Mozilla Firefox? (I know,
they're one and the same, but it would be interesting if these websites
display correctly in Firefox and Internet Explorer and not Netscape).

Actually, I fixed the problem. I disabled a checkbox in the Netscape options
that said "load images from originating site only" and now everything looks
great.
