Network adapter disappears after SP1 or SP2 install

Hello. I use an Intel AnyPoint Home Network USB Phoneline
Adapter system to link my 4 Win XP Pro computers together
for filesharing and for sharing my DSL internet
connection. It works great AS LONG as I don't have Win XP
SP1 or SP2 installed. After I installed SP1 a while back,
Windows could not see the AnyPoint Network Adapter any
longer. Trying to add it in the Add Hardware program
didn't work. As soon as I uninstalled SP1, all was OK. I
recently installed SP2 and had exactly the same problem.
Windows refused to recognize the Anypoint adapter.
Uninstalling SP2 fixed the problem. Has anyone else had
the same problem? If so, do you know what can be done to
either fix the problem or work around it? Any help would
be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
