Network and Sharing Center Question

I only have one computer with internet access. No Networking.
Thus, I have turned off all items in the Network and Sharing Center.
Can this have any adverse effect on something that I'm not aware of?
I just don't believe I need all those "holes" to my system if I don't have
to.

Turning off those functions should not have any adverse effects and can make
it more secure
