Network connection failed after installing KB917953

Hello,

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-S560P. After installing this windows update
(KB917953), my computer won't connect to any network at all. The following is
from a command prompt:

C:\Documents and Settings\tmai>ipconfig

Windows IP Configuration

An internal error occurred: The request is not supported.

Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for further help.

Additional information: Unable to query host name.

Open a command prompt window and type these commands:

netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

and restart Windows
