Network connection failure

I'm not able to 'sustain' a network connection. A setting is automatically
disconnecting it.
I have a Sony Vaio laptop NS285DS running Vista Home Premium. It boots to
Log On okay showing the wireless internet connection light green at the
switch. When I log in and applications load, the light goes out and no
network connections are available. My wireless PC confirms the network is
there and working. It was working a week ago but now some setting is causing
the disconnect.

I've looked at the wireless adapter and it's working properly, even
uninstalled to try that. Done virus checks, done system clean, etc.
Any suggestions?

Thanks
Rob

Have you updated any drivers within the last week?
Maybe review MSUpdate to see what has been installed recently

Just the usual MS security updates and MS application updates. Nothing that
might target network drivers that I can see.
