Network Connections dialog keeps popping up

Hi there, sorry if this has been addressed previously. I did a search,
but came up emptyhanded.

I just picked up a laptop with Vista Business edition pre-installed a
few days ago. I'm currently on business travel, so there are three
network connections that I use on a daily basis:

1) At my company: Requires a PPPOE connection, and that is set up in
my "Network Connections" folder
2) At the hotel: Just requires a direct connection to the LAN
3) At starbucks: Free wi-fi connectivity

There's nothing special about connection numbers 2 and 3. So, the only
specialized entry in "Network Connections" is the PPPOE connection.

When I'm at work, everything is fine. However, when I'm connected at
the hotel or starbucks, even though I'm connected and am able to
access the internet, Vista keeps trying to connect to the PPPOE
connection. It keeps popping up that little login dialog box. This
happens every 15 seconds or so. And I can't just minimize and ignore
the dialog, as it freezes my internet connection until I click
"cancel". Very, very annoying.

I visited the properties of this connection, and made sure to change
the "Redial attempts" to 0, and unchecked the "Redial if line is
dropped" checkbox. But, no good.

Can anyone help me?

just disable the one for the company LAN when you are out of the office,
usually a right click>disable

Very, very weird. For some reason, after two days of having this
issue, it's gone away. I probably did something, and don't know what.
Anyway, thanks for your reply.
