HP Pavilion Desk Top. NVIDIA nForce MCP Networking Controler not working
properly. Owner new to Computer/internet. Got modem, pluged in modem
(clearwwire) conected to internet, downloaded/installed 60+ Priority updates
to WindowsXP Home SP1. Told he needed SP2 downloaded/installed SP2 and 44
priority updates for SP2. After installing updates during shutdown for
reboot got Msg NVIDIA not responding. Task was terminated comp rebooted.
After reboot could not connect to internet. Comp says controler working and
connected. I was able to get the controler to work by disabling then
enbabling. (must be done after every startup) Works but not elegant
solution. Any known problems with SP2 updates that could cause problem??
Have driver from HP same version as now installed. Won't be able to try
reinstalling driver for a few days. ANY ideas or suggestions appreciated.

I suggest going to http://www.nvidia.com/ and installing the latest drivers
for the particular nvidia chipset that this motherboard has.

Been to NVIDIA. Will have to get back to comp and find what chip set is
installed and give it a try. Thanks I'll let you know.

Hi there,

If you are going to use use the Nvidia driver and want all to work fine:
only install the driver for the card not the neworking tools that come with
it

Best reagrds,
