update:-ok i have now disconnected the mapped usb drive ,deleted the usb1
folder created in the share folder of the nas drive then re-formatted the usb
drive using the utility in the web admin of the nas drive result is i can now
do a full backup but all i get is empty temp folders 32approx which get added
to every time i backup . If i map the usb drive then i don't have ownership
of it so dont get any write permissions and cannot find any way to change it
hope this has clarified things a bit
