network icon issue on taskbar

for some reason, since the factory restore I did, the icon doesn't display
any correct information anymore, like right now it is saying I only have
local access but I am able to access the web anyway :/ I don't understand
why or how could anyone help?

acer extanza 5620-4020
1.73ghz
2gb ddr2 don't know if anything else would be usefull if so plz request info
and I will do my best to provide to you.

Hello Jonathan

Double check to make sure that you have the have the Services "Networ
Connections", "Network List Service", "Network Location Awareness", an
"Network Store Interface Service" set to Started and Automatic. If thes
are not, then it can cause the Network icon to nor function properly

ok network connection was manual but so far it didn't change anything will
reply if changes occur

well it didn't change anything but I am trying the link you gave me, there
is a program to finx windows vista so I will try it and hope for best
