Network printer problem

I have tried Googling, speaking with HP tech etc. nobody seems to have an
answer hopefully someone here might.

When trying to setup a home network shared printer we get the 0x00003eb
error.

Have tried using add printer local port, add network printer - nothing
works, always get the error when windows tries to communicate with the
pritner. The comuter with the printe connected to it via USB has XP and can
be pinged and the the other computer has Vista and can be pinged from the XP
machine and is wireless.

We also have another Vista machine wireless and a XP machined non wireless
than can use the shared printer over the network - and that is what has me
confused.

Any suggestions on how to get the other 2 computers to be able to use the
printer on the home network would be greatly appreciated. We have spent way
too many hours on the this problem.

Yes its compatible. Used the cd and the software from HP site always get to
a point of detection and then it says file is unreadable and corrupt. Of
course HP won't help because it is out of warranty and they were never any
help when it was unde warranty so why would I purchase their "help". I use
their speak to a tech on chat and after 12 hrs and 6 different reps the last
one told me I had to re-install the OS which I thought I did using the
recovery disks but according to him that isn't sufficient!
