Network transfers Sslow down while playing music with Media Player

When playing music files using Media Player 11 network transfers slow to a
crawl. Does anyone have any idea why this is?

To duplicate the problem start transferring a large file over the network
while monitoring network performance in performance monitor. Then open MP11
and play a music file. Network Performance slows to a crawl. This is after
I loaded the reliability and performance patches but happened before as well.
