I have Windows 7 but can't find a newsgroup for it so I'm posting it here.
I have 2 computers in my home and I have them networked together, maybe not
properly.
I am on computer 2 and I open a file that is on computer 1. All is well so
far.
I work on the file and attempt to save it back to computer 1. I get an
error message stating that the file is read only and that I can't save it.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your time. Otto

Otto,

You have done nothing wrong. It probably be one of the following causes:
1. Check computer 1 to see if it is open and in use. Most of the time when a
file is opened on one computer, the other computers that access it will go
into read only status.
2. Check your sharing permissions. Make sure you select "allow others to
modify my files" or similar caliber. Without it checked, you can access the
file but you won't be able to save it to the shared folder.
3. Check your product's license. Special or trial software have a limited
number of uses before functionality is cut off and you will get only a
read-only thing (like a viewer).

These should help. Good luck and Game On.
