New 2008 Cluster

I'm trying to setup a new 2 node 2008 cluster. The validation tests run
fine. I go to create the cluster and within 1 second, the setup fails.

Beginning to configure the cluster XXCluster.
Initializing Cluster XXCluster.
Validating cluster state on node hyper1.xx.COM.
Searching the domain for computer object 'XXCluster'.
Creating a new computer object for 'XXCluster' in the domain.
Configuring computer object 'XXCluster' as cluster name object.
Validating installation of the Network FT Driver on node hyper1.xx.COM.
Unable to successfully cleanup.
To troubleshoot cluster creation problems, run the Validate a Configuration
wizard on the servers you want to cluster.

These are both new HP Proliant servers running Server 2008 sp1 DataCenter
edition. I've uninstalled AV software, disabled Windows Firewall and even
disabled the Base Filtering Engine service (as suggested by Microsoft during
the beta of server 2008.) Apparently I'm missing something..

Any suggestions?

Hello MH,

Did you follow this way "Step-by-Step Guide for Configuring a Two-Node File
Server Failover Cluster in Windows Server 2008.doc" from:
https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...displaylang=en

Do you use IPv6 or is it complete disabled?

Any firewall running?

How did you configure your NIC's?

See also this longer posting about IPv4 and IPv6 in clustering, maybe it
helps you:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...2-cb109b836bee

I ended up re-formatting the server with issues and I could then setup the
cluster.
