I was hoping an improvement with the new build (.689) but whenever
either I or the contact I talk with ends the conversation, messenger
freezes. I have to close it in the task manager et open it again...very
annoying.

I am running windows xp, on a pentium 4, 3 mhz, 2 gig ram.If someone
knows of something I could do to solve this problem, please let me know,
thanks

Greetings,

Can you elaborate on what kind of conversation you're referring to (text/voice/video/etc)?

It only happens with a direct voice conversation... if I use the
option to send a vocal message, then there is no problem.

I have a Asus P4P800 Deluxe mothercard (in case it helps )

Are all the drivers for your hardware devices up to date (video card drivers
most notably)?

video card drivers are up to date. I had an a radeon 9600 xt and I
change for a radeon x1600 pro 256 meg with the latest drivers from ati
and the same thing happened, freezing when either I or my contact ends
the conversation.

Note that I am not the only one with this problem. I often write on a
forum and the moderator has the same problem...
