But do you remember how long it took for 32-Bit computing to become
mainstream? The venerable 80386 was the first true 32-Bit processor,
which was released sometime in the mid-80's, but 32-Bit computing only
really became mainstream in 1995 with the release of Windows 95.
What amazes me is that 16-Bit programs are still in use today. Thank
[insert deity name here] that Microsoft has dropped any and all 16-Bit
support from their x64 OSes like Windows XP X64 and Vista x64...!
Just let's hope that the market uptake of x64 is a little quicker than
was 32-Bit. Should be, seeing as Vista x64 is way, WAY better than Vista
x86.

went south thanks to mother nature and a lightning bolt to the mains
supply that my UPS could not stop. Now I'm just waiting for the
insurance payout, so I can build a new machine.-'
