I am on a brand new VISTA computer now. I am doing ASP.NET development.
So I need to turn on IIS. When I do, I notice that the IIS feature is
not checked.

When I check it, it says that there is an error during the set-up
process.

But it seems to continue.

Then, at the end of its process, it give me another error

But it seemed that it worked because behind the error message, the items
appeared to be checked.

But it did not work. When I go back and look at the settings, I see that IIS
is not installed.

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the site xarzu!

Can you try the steps in this KB article, and see if that helps:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929772

Quote:
1. To start IIS Manager, click Start, type Inetmgr in the Start Search box, and then click Inetmgr in the Programs list.
2. Expand the local computer node, double-click ISAPI Filters, and then remove all the ASP.NET filters that are listed.
3. Reinstall the ASP.NET feature of IIS 7.0 by using the Turn Windows Features On or Off wizard.
It could be the ASP.NET component in IIS causing this
