Can anyone help with direction of how to move programs from XP to Vista? Also
trying to import from outlook and getting an error that messages cannot be
imported fro MAPI. Thanks.

1. Above is the link for saving Outlook Messages.
Follow instructions to copy to file, then put on memory stick, etc to move.

2. You can not move programs(except like sol.exe, etc) from one computer to
another, as they are spread over the OS where they are first installed, like
Registry, Program files, etc

You have to reinstall the Programs again in Vista from the original
media(CDs,etc), or download them again.

Simply copy the outlook data files - the *.pst files (With OL closed)
Do NOT Export or Import - it loses settings and data
Do NOT copy to the default Outlook data file location & ovewrite any
existing data file, this will corrupt it and any Profile.
Within OL Open any data file
Of course it helps to know the version of OL being used

Easy transfer rarely works without problems in Outlook

If you are transferring from one computer to another, there is an Easy
Transfer Companion program that transfers programs as though you were
upgrading from XP. You have the same problems as with an upgrade of making
sure any items mentioned in the upgrade advisor are addressed before using.

It's easy to understand why you're consumed with all things dealing with
outhouses. You need to satisfy your outhouse desires by staying over at
that open sores sh*thole you keep crawling out of and you'll be much
happier.
