Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:

I've got several updates won't install. Sadly, this PA Bear's fix hasn't
solved it.

And you've done a "repair installation" of Windows XP lately?
If not, KB943144 "may" not apply to your situation.

Which updates are the ones that won't install? KB number please.

Which is the error code displayed on the Windows Update site looking
into the history and the failed updates?

Bye,
Freudi

Yes, I reinstalled. Since then I've not been able to install Win Updates:

Security Update for Microsoft.Net Framework, Version 1.0 Service Pack 3
(KB930494)
Office 2003 Service Pack 3(SP3)
Update Rollup 2 for WindowsXP Media Center Edition 2005

Go ahead and download Dial-a-fix.
http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix

Reboot into safe mºde (F-8)

Click the green checkmark and click Go.

After it has finished, try Windows Update and see if you can get your
updates installed.

Let us know what happens.

Damn! Followed your advice, full of hope, but no joy. All three updates
still fail to install. V frustrating.
