Windows Mail has replaced Outlook Express. As far as I can tell, they are
functionally equivalent.

Windows Mail is a bit different, but it's a better client than Outlook
Express once you are up and running. And NO, Outlook Express does not run on
Vista as far I as I can remember. You can easily import your Outlook Express
messages into Windows Mail from the import dialog.

Not quite: The Boolean filter editor which OE had (Like Forte's
Filters) is gone in Windows Mail. This was definitely NOT an
improvement, nor did it make Windows Mail a "better client".

I prefer to use Microsoft Office Outlook for e-mail..

For NNTP access, I prefer Forte, Inc's Agent Newsreader, but I do not
use its ability to send or receive e-mail.
