New License Key?!

Hi everyone,

My motherboard/CPU recently failed, so I've had to replace them both. I
simply switched the components over and hoped for the best.

Vista coped fine with the new hardware without a clean install, except that
it has decided I need to reactivate. This is fair enough I guess, but when I
try to activate Windows, it tells me the product key is already in use (ie my
old mobo), and that i need to purchase a new key.

Surely I should be able to do this without a new product key? What do I
need to do?

I run Vista Ultimate 32bit, and it's an OEM license.

Thanks in advance,

Martin

Hello,

you'll very probably have to reactivate by telephone. This won't take long and you will be redirected to a person who will handle your request.
