New Mail Notification

I've downloaded Windows Live Mail and Messenger and tried to set things up so
that I get a little pop-up notification when I receive a new email. This
isn't happening, though. Any ideas?

Did you set up messenger to sign in automatically?

It opens automatically when logging in to the computer and we click the sign
in button. It is signed in and minimized, but not notifying when new messages
are received.

Greetings,

You'll only be notified with a visual indicator of new mail if that Hotmail-based (includes
live.com, etc.) Live ID is signed into Messenger. If you have say, a POP account in Live
Mail, you won't be notified of mail for that.
