Who designed the layout and look of the new messenger ? A bunch drunk
cartoonist ?

It's back to version 8.5 for me..yuck ! And if the look and layout doesn't
change I'm not budging.

Not even if Microsoft disables version 8.5 in some fashion ! If they somehow
disable it, I I'm done.

It's pitiful, it's horrid !

Greetings BAM,

Microsoft doesn't disable older clients unless they're deemed a security risk, so 8.5 will be
fine for the foreseeable future.

You may however, get some upgrade notifications when you sign in.

New MSN doesn't have anything bad, they really needed some image change
old one was getting crap and for you answer, if you don't like it don'
use it and don't nag about it... and probably soon MSN+ will be out tha
allows you skinning again

Hi Jonathan,

Today I received a Hotmail message saying "Get the new messenger!"

At least this one didn't install itself on top of the Beta like last time -
but having not been told that Beta's over with, how is one to find out
whether to pay attention to this?

Hi,

To be fair, they only really market the official versions via e-mail (to the best of my
knowledge anyway). I think the only way anyone would really know what they're getting is to
check places like this or other Messenger-related sites.
