Hi Mike,
Even if it doesn't appear to do much, when you send the error reports to Microsoft (any
product), it the crash is already in the system, it will simply increase the crash count in
their database. As they deal with crashes on a "most crashed" basis, the more you submit,
the more chance you have of that particular problem being fixed [sooner].
Also, not that it helps but I have heard that the number of crashes since the original
versions of 2009 have gone down.
