Suggestions: 1) Close all your open user programs. Close/exit Panda. Try connecting to Windows Update. any change?
2) Be sure you are using Internet Explorer when you go to Windows Update site. And check its settings & add sites to its Trusted Sites list.
In Internet Explorer browser > main menu /Tools/Internet Options >
Security Tab/ click on green icon Trusted Sites/click Sites button.
Look very closely at line that says:
"Require server verification (https

for all sites in this zone" to *clear* (un-tick) the selection.
In the "Add this Web site to the zone:" field, add these entries to
list of "Trusted Sites" --
type
http://*.download.windowsupdate.com (click Add)
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
http://update.microsoft.com
https://update.microsoft.com (with HTTPS)
Click OK. Apply changes to IE browser.
Select Windows Update from main Start menus or from I.E. browser menu.
Any progress? If not, post back with all details.
Lastly, try going to this web address directly (click on it or type in address in I.E. browser)
<https://update.microsoft.com>
p.s. Review Panda settings/preferences to see if there is a section to put "safe" or "exception" sites to its "white" list.
Be sure Panda is not blocking all scripts.
