I don't see a response yet to your message.
If possible, call you restore to a prior date, or uninstall the
updater?
After you have downloaded the updates and saved them, then scan them
with AVG. If you DL'd from MS, they should be okay. Then disconnect
from the internet, and TURN OFF the AVG! Turn off Spybot and your
other anti-malware programs.
Then install the updates.
Reboot.
Are they there?
