new movie maker will not launch

I have a new vista installa nd it does te same thing with the new movie
maker. It will not launch and it gioves error about video card not being
directx complaint. But ist is. How can I force this to launch. I want to be
bale to burn video to dvd. teh older version won't do that. What can I do?
