Cal Bear, Is this something that should be installed? Wouldn't this be a
step down from the beta updates? I have 169.01 installed now. If it is
working well would it be wiser to just stay with that?

Yeah, if I were you and the beta is working well, I wouldn't bother with this
WHQL driver.

I haven't installed the beta driver.

Causes horrible flickering and horizontal tearing on my monitors when
logging on and occasionally during normal use.

Did a system restore to get back to the original Vista driver, which works
fine.
